After eight happy years teaching Spanish as a freelance teacher in London, I decided to launch my own Spanish School in Clapham in 2006.

Originally from Argentina, I also lived in Spain for eight years where I gained my teaching qualification. My current role involves managing the school and also keeping abreast of the latest teaching methods which are incorporated into classes to keep them fresh, relevant and engaging.

I feel very proud to have a fantastic team of teachers and staff working alongside me to deliver classes to students who are so eager to learn. It really gives me great satisfaction to see our students discover the beauty of the Spanish language.

Our students’ success in learning is my prime concern; I make sure that I am kept informed about students’ progress in class and, from time to time, I will visit classes to see how everybody is doing.

It would be wonderful if you could join us at Friendly Spanish!

Javier

¡Saludos! My name is Javier Picazo and I’m from Madrid. I’m very happy to be working with Friendly Spanish, surrounded by a lively team of teachers, staff and students – without doubt, it’s a great experience for me!

I have a teaching certificate in Spanish as a foreign language and I have been teaching Spanish for several years, in Madrid and in Beijing. Now, I have settled in London, where I’m really enjoying the experience, both on a personal and on a professional level.

For me, teaching Spanish is not only a way of making a living, but also a way of sharing my native language, culture and experiences with others.

I look forward to meeting you all in the future!

¡Hola! My name is Raquel and I am from a small and old town in the northwest of Spain called Santiago de Compostela (Galicia). I moved to London a few years ago after living and studying in Portsmouth for two years where I obtained my PGCE in languages. I really enjoy teaching and sharing my language and culture. For me, I get personal satisfaction from seeing how the students are improving their language skills. It would be great to see you soon!

Santiago Tobin Santiago

Hola! I’m Santiago from Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina – the city that never sleeps. Where you can smell the aroma of fresh Italian coffee while buying books well past midnight! From the historical areas of the city such as La Boca and San Telmo to the more modern areas such as Puerto Madero and Palermo.

After moving to London in 2006, I decided to embark upon a career in teaching Spanish. I gained my Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (CLTA) from International House in London and since then have enjoyed a very rewarding career as a teacher.

I gain great satisfaction from teaching Spanish here in London to my enthusiastic students who come from all over the world. I love seeing how quickly my students pick up the language. I would love to see all of you in my classes!

Ivonne Aguirre Ivonne

My name is Ivonne Aguirre. I’m from Bogota, Colombia, a country famous for its fabulous coffee, beautiful flowers and welcoming people. I have worked for more than 8 years as a Spanish and English teacher in England and in Colombia.

My love of my language and the desire to share it with others motivated me to start teaching Spanish – and I can honestly say that I have never looked back! For me, teaching is a vocation; nothing gives me greater satisfaction than seeing my students progress and sharing my knowledge and culture with them. Being part of the Friendly Spanish team has, and continues to be, a very exciting, interesting and enriching experience. I really love my classes, especially meeting new people from many different nationalities and learning about their lives and interests.

Claudia Claudia

Hola! ¿Qué tal?

My name is Claudia. I am from Buenos Aires, one of South America’s most vibrant cities.

I’ve lived in the UK for many years now and it’s the lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere of London, where many people have an interest in the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, which inspired me to embark upon a career in teaching Spanish. After gaining my teaching qualification in London, I started working for Friendly Spanish; this has opened a new and exciting world up to me, as I love sharing my culture and interests with my students and learning about their lives and experiences. It’s so interesting to meet people from all backgrounds and very rewarding to see how everyone improves and develops in such a short period of time.

Hope to see you soon in our Friendly Spanish classes!
