Studying Spanish with us

Curriculum

We have our own curriculum, which is based on and adapted to the framework established by the Council of the European Union. It is flexible and can be applied to the needs and individual requirements of each student, whether in a one-to-one class or in a group.

Levels

We offer six levels of tuition in accordance with the Common European Framework of References for Languages, which provides general guidelines on studying languages. This is the framework followed by all tutors and language schools across Europe.

Methodology

Our courses are based upon the communicative approach and develop the four language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – with particular emphasis upon speaking and listening. We aim to help you develop your ability to understand and use Spanish in a wide range of real life situations. Grammar is built seamlessly into your language learning in an accessible and easily understood way.

Start (A1)

By the end of this level you will be able to talk about yourself, your friends, and places, and communicate in everyday situations, exchanging ideas at a basic level.

Continue (A2)

You will be able to communicate in relation to familiar and routine matters requiring a simple and direct exchange of information. You will understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance when they are spoken clearly.

Progress (B1)

You will be able to interact confidently, and you will be able to understand more complex language structures, making reference to the past and to the future. You will be able to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, and briefly give reasons and explanations for options and plans.

Advance (B2)

At this level you are taught to express your ideas and points of view more expansively. You will develop your knowledge of everyday topics and your understanding of most issues in current affairs. You will be able to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible without much effort.

Consolidate (C1)

At this level you will be able to support your ideas fluently. Understanding discourse of a more complex nature will now be a key factor. This will enable you to analyse current issues, offering your personal opinions and criticism.

Perfect (C2)

By the end of this level you will be proficient enough to communicate in any Spanish-speaking context and you will have attained a level similar to that of a native Spanish speaker. You will be able to express yourself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
